Workshop
In this session Sami will share some inspiring animal stories in which Australia’s own species have risen from the ashes and overcome many adversities to defy all odds and even extinction. She will give an insight into her background and how she has come to be where she is now, her art process, the things that inspire her and how she aims to inspire kids to look after nature instead of feeling helpless.
You will also hear about how 2 Newcastle based female scientific illustrators who were banned from University (the Scott Sisters), helped to shape Sami's own career and opportunities. A story of resilience that celebrates the conferences theme of ‘Rising from the Ashes’.
